Botsis Foundation Scholarships 2023-25

For yet another year, the Botsis Foundation actively supports studies in constantly evolving journalism and technology.

 

Proclamation for 2023-25

 

In the context of its purpose, the Athan V. Botsi Foundation for the Advancement of Journalism announces four (4) scholarships for studies in the two-year, bilingual Postgraduate Program ” Quality Jouranlism and New Technologies” (QJNT), implemented by the European Communication Institute (ECI) and the Austrian State University for Continuing Education Krems (UWK, formerly Danube University Krems – DUK), in collaboration with the ‘Athena’ Research Center and the Athan. V. Botsis Foundation for the Promotion of Journalism. This two-year Postgraduate Program, starting in 2023, is addressed to journalists and graduates of Media / Communication / Social Sciences schools.

 

The selected person must be able to travel to Austria for a minimum of 2 periods, during the month of June of each year. The duration of the scholarship is two years. The total tuition fee is 9.150,00 euros. With the scholarship, the Foundation covers part of the total cost of the tuition fee, i.e. 3.000,00 euros for each scholar. The balance of 6.150,00 euros is borne by the scholarship holder and is paid in instalments. The scholarship also includes the cost of accommodation of periods in Vienna.

 

Interested parties are invited to submit a complete folder by Friday, December 30, 2022 to the Secretariat of the Foundation, Vas. Sofias 27, (4th floor), Athens, tel. +30 21 07245550, +30 21 07245558, daily at 10.00 a.m. – 03.00 p.m., except Saturdays and Sundays. The folder can, alternatively, be submitted in electronic form (scanned documents) by the above deadline, in the emails of the Botsis Foundation and ECI.

 

The complete dossier must include 1) CV, 2) Copy of certificate of studies, 3) A photocopy of the Identity Card showing the Greek citizenship of the candidate and his/her age, which should not exceed the age of 35, 4) Certificate of criminal record (presentable by the successful candidates even after the deadline). Scholarships to the ECI are awarded subject to the acceptance of the candidate by the Institute.

 

The selection of the scholarship holder will be made after free judgment of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
