Klimentini Diakomanoli
Klimentini Diakomanoli has been an executive of the European Commission since 2002 specializing in Press and Communication issues, with a long professional experience in the field of European news and journalism. Since 2023, she specialises in disinformation and political intelligence at the Directorate-General for Communication in Brussels. She has been involved in informing citizens on issues of research and technology, environment and climate change, disinformation, as well as with most thematic policies of the European Union. She has served as Director of the Press Office in the Representations of the European Commission in Greece and Cyprus and, from time to time, has served as Head of the two Delegations. Since 1998, she has served as a diplomat (Press Attachée) in Brussels, in the Permanent Representation of Greece to the EU and in the Embassy of Greece in Belgium.
She is the author of the book ‘Fake News: What is Europe doing?’ (in Greek), which was released in June 2021 (University of Macedonia Publications) and reissued in 2023. The book is prefaced by the then Vice-President of the European Commission, Mr Margaritis Schinas.
Regular lecturer at the Postgraduate Program “Institutions, Communication and European Integration” at the European Communication Institute.
She is a graduate of the Law School of the Kapodistrian University of Athens and a former Lawyer in Athens. She is also a graduate of the first series of Press Attaché de Presse of the National School of Public Administration.
She has done postgraduate studies in Criminal Law and Criminology in France (D.E.A. de Droit Pénal et Sciences Criminelles – Université de Pau et de Pays de l’ Adour) and at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Master of Arts in Digital Communication and Crisis Management).
