Άννα Μισέλ Ασημακοπούλου

Η Άννα Μισέλ Ασημακοπούλου είναι οικονομολόγος και δικηγόρος. Εργάστηκε επί σειρά ετών ως δικηγόρος στις ΗΠΑ, με εξειδίκευση στις χρηματοοικονομικές συναλλαγές και στο διεθνές τραπεζικό δίκαιο, ως εμπειρογνώμων της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής, και ως διευθυντικό στέλεχος εταιρείας συμβούλων στις Βρυξέλλες και στο Λουξεμβούργο. Διηύθυνε το Ίδρυμα ΕΓΝΑΤΙΑ ΗΠΕΙΡΟΥ που εδρεύει στα Ιωάννινα.

Ευρωβουλευτής από το 2019 συμμετέχει ως αντιπρόεδρος στην Επιτροπή Διεθνούς Εμπορίου και είναι μέλος της Επιτροπής Εσωτερικής Αγοράς και Προστασίας των Καταναλωτών, της Επιτροπής Ανάπτυξης, της Επιτροπής Αναφορών και της Επιτροπής Επιστημονικών και Τεχνολογικών Μελετών.

Η Άννα Μισέλ Ασημακοπούλου διετέλεσε επίσης Αντιδήμαρχος Ιωαννίνων και ήταν η πρώτη γυναίκα που εξελέγη Βουλευτής Ιωαννίνων το 2012. Εκλέχτηκε εκ νέου στο Ελληνικό Κοινοβούλιο το 2015 ως  Βουλευτής Β’ Αθηνών.

Διετέλεσε επίσης Εκπρόσωπος Τύπου της Νέας Δημοκρατίας και Τομεάρχης Δημοσιονομικής πολιτικής, Ανάπτυξης, Ψηφιακής πολιτικής, Τηλεπικοινωνιών και Ενημέρωσης της Νέας Δημοκρατίας.

Σπούδασε Οικονομικά στο Bryn Mawr College και Νομικά στο Cornell University στις Η.Π.Α. 

Είναι μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του think tank Friends of Europe και του Ελληνοαμερικανικού Πανεπιστημίου.

Anna Michelle Asimakopoulou is an economist and an attorney-at-law. She worked for several years as an attorney in the USA, specializing in financial transactions and international banking law; as an external expert for the European Commission, and as a manager in consulting companies in Brussels and Luxembourg. She was the Director of an NGO based in Ioannina, Greece. 

Elected at the European Parliament in 2019, MEP Asimakopoulou serves as vice-chair of the Committee on International Trade and is a member of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, the Development Committee, the Committee on Petitions and the Science and Technology Options Assessment Panel. 

She has also served as Deputy Mayor of the City of Ioannina and was the first woman to be elected as a member of the Greek Parliament for the district of Ioannina in 2012. She was re-elected in 2015 from the district of Athens B.

She also served as Party Spokesperson and as Head of the Fiscal Policy Sector, Development and Competition Sector and Digital Policy, Telecommunications & Media sector for New Democracy.

She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the think tank Friends of Europe and of the Hellenic American University.
