Important conference by EDIPT, with the participation ECI
The Conference “The dynamics of periodicals today”, organized by the Association of Journalists and Owners of Periodical Press (EDIPT), was held with great success on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in its hospitable privately owned event hall, on Vas. Sofias av.
The Association has more than 200 members and an estimated combined audience of three million readers.
The Conference was under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Communication and Information and unfolded in three sesions.
The European Communication Institute was represented by its Head, Mr. Marios Nottas, and the Director of Studies and Head of Specialization “Psychology and Social Networks”, Mr. Charalambos Tsekeris.
In the section “The value of the Sectoral Press in specialized information” Mr. Nottas referred to the adaptation of the printed press to the modern digital environment and journalism in general, while in the section “The new challenges for Magazines” Mr. Tsekeris elaborated on issues related to Artificial Intelligence and Media Literacy, pointing out that industry publications are a “bulwark against disinformation”.
The attendees were welcomed by the President of EDIPT Mrs. Penny Kalyva and the Secretary General Mr. Konstantinos Spyrou, while the Minister of State and Government Spokesman Mr. Akis Skertsos, pointed out in his greeting that “in a world characterized by complexity, with increasingly complex challenges, the information provided by the specialized periodical press is valuable, almost irreplaceable”.
More than a hundred publishers of newspapers and magazines from all over the country, representatives of political parties and the Municipality of Athens, former ministers and representatives of various bodies were present at the confeerence.
