Dr. Angeliki Komboholi
Dr. Angeliki Kompocholi was born in Kalamata in 1967. She studied philology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens (1986-1990). A scholar of the Greek National Scholarships Foundation (IKY), she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at the same university in October 2008. For her ethnographic research work she was honored with praises of the Academy of Athens in 2002, 2006 and 2010.
Member of the Hellenic Naming Society, the Hellenic Folklore Society, the Hellenic Ethnological Society and the SIEF (Societé Internationale d’ Ethnologie et de Folklore), has published studies in Greek and foreign scientific journals and has participated in Greek and international conferences, with emphasis on the philosophical view of ancient Greek language and culture.
For the last twenty years she has been active in the private sector and has been involved in the promotion of the Greek cultural heritage and the teaching of ancient Greek language and philosophy. She has participated in radio broadcasts and festivals, in the educational programs of the Future Library organization of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, in the programs for teaching ancient Greek to children of the B &M Theocharakis Foundation and in the Harmony project of the Health Being Institute of London – College of Medicine (2017, 2018) exploring the application of ancient Greek philosophical thought in upgrading everyday life.
Finally, as a former member of the editorial team of the literary magazine Umbrella and E.P.O.S. (United Course of Writers) she was thoroughly involved in literary writing and criticism and is a collaborator of many literary scientific journals, online and offline. Her poems and prose have been published in printed collections, her one-act play has been presented at the Greek Christian Theatre Society in 2007, while in 2017 and 2018 she participated in the poetic Intelligenzia organized by the Society of Greek Writers.
