Georgios Fountoulakis
Born in Athens, he received an honorary doctorate from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology – PPP) in the field of Theology, Philosophy and Psychology. His basic studies concern Social Theology (Theological School of the University of Athens, Faculty of Philosophy – Pedagogy – Psychology). George Fountoulakis is conducting postdoctoral research in the field of Environmental Psychology of religion, while he is also writing a second doctoral thesis at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. A scholar of the Japanese “Sasakawa” Foundation, he has also attended courses at the Center for Training and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the Open University on “Introduction to Clinical Psychopathology”.
With extensive written work, he participates as a speaker in scientific conferences and workshops on issues of Psychology, Theology and Philosophy. He has taught in both secondary and tertiary education at undergraduate and postgraduate level and is part of the teaching staff of the Department of Social Theology & Religion of the Theological School of the University of Athens.
He is a professor at the European Communication Institute, where he teaches courses in the subjects of Psychology, Theology and Philosophy in the Interdisciplinary Program, but also in the direction ‘Humanistic Communication and New Technologies’ – HCNT.
His research interests include environmental psychology, psychology of religion, religious psychopathology, philosophy and history of psychology, as well as body language in human relations.
