2024 Awards Ceremony

In a glorious ceremony, at Zappeion Megaron, the Festival of Journalism / Communication took place, in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

 

Within the framework of the Athanasios V. Botsis, were awarded the best performance, but also the ethos of Communicators for their Work, within the previous year 2023.

The Foundation for the Promotion of Journalism is a statutory partner of the European Institute of Communication.

 

Within the framework of the awards, the Institute awards the “George Karagiannis” Prize for Journalism and Technology.

 

In this way, the ECI annually honors our fellow citizens – distinguished Communicators and Institutions. The criterion for the award is their impact on journalism / communication issues, with the use of New Technologies.

 

The institution was created in honor of the late professor of NTUA, president of the Athena Research Center and founding member of the Institute’s governing board, the late George Karagiannis.

 

This year’s awards of the Institute were awarded by the Secretary General of Information and Communication, Dr. Dimitris Galamatis, on Monday 20 May, at the Peristyle of Zappeion Megaron.

 

The distinguished laureates (2024) with ‘George Karagiannis’ were:

Professor, Archimandrite Aristarchos Grekas

– For his Research Work in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Humanism

Mr. Dimitris Tsoukalas

– For his multifaceted contribution to the Special Press and his successful tenure in a large number of special publications in the fields of Communication and Business.

Dr. Vassilis Vassilopoulos

– For the preparation of a research project and the supervision of the research team that implemented the drafting of the Code of Ethics of Informative Online Media.
